Why did you become a volunteer at SWAN Women’s Centre?

I became a volunteer at SWAN Women's Centre because I wanted to give something back to my local community. It was a new experience for me and helped to boost my confidence.

What have you gained in terms of personal development?

In terms of personal development, volunteering has given me a new challenge. I’ve learnt new things working on the reception desk such as computer skills and how to use the centre’s database.

What do you enjoy most about volunteering at SWAN?

What I enjoy most about volunteering for SWAN Women’s Centre is that the people, both staff and clients, are so lovely. There is always a warm welcome when I come in every week.

What is the training like?

The training is led by Lynda, our Volunteer Coordinator. I’m always happy to learn new skills.
