Your Mind Matters – Young Women’s Mental Health Project

At our Your Mind Matters service, we understand the unique challenges that young women face when it comes to mental health. Our caring and experienced team provide the support and resources needed to navigate through difficult times.

Our services include:

Mental Health Practitioner

One-on-one sessions with our mental health practitioners who can help you process your feelings, develop coping strategies, provide guidance on managing mental health challenges and create an action plan tailored to your needs.

Mental Health Advocate

After your initial meeting with us if needed we can refer you to our mental health advocacy service. This is with a trained professional who can help you access appropriate resources and services and ensure that your voice is heard and respected in your mental health journey.

Here is an idea of what the mental health advocate can support our young women with:

  • Help you understand your rights
  • Provide information to help you make informed decisions
  • Support you to contact relevant people, or contact them on your behalf
  • Help you prefer for meetings and appointments and/or accompany you to them
  • Provide information on what benefits you could be entitled to and/or make applications
  • Fill in benefit forms like PIP (Personal independent payment)
  • Signpost where needed
  • Assist in accessing and understanding information

The support of the mental health advocate is not limited to the above information. The support from the advocate is dependent on the individual needs.

Group Sessions

In addition, we deliver group sessions, where you can connect with other young women who may be going through similar experiences and find a supportive community where you can share and learn from each other.
